Welcome to the 2023 DSA Staff Retreat!

We are excited to announce that the Division of Student Affairs Retreat will be taking place on January 10 & 11, 2023.

This year's retreat will feature exciting new social and professional development programs that are designed to forge connections and drive our commitment to learn, lead and serve within the campus community.

The theme for the 2023 Retreat is Putting the 'R' in Resilience.

The City of Newark and the Rutgers-Newark community have experienced numerous dramatic changes and transitions over recent years, many of which presented new, unfamiliar challenges to us all. In spite of those challenges, the Division of Student Affairs continues to show up for our students and their needs: the very definition of putting the ‘R’ in Resilience.

We believe that the resilience of our city and our students is one of our strongest attributes as a division and we encourage grit and determination in our students as they rise to the challenges of attaining a degree. We seek collaboration and support from one another when the demands of our work require additional support. We reach out, check in, and follow up with those who need it.

Resilience is strongest when it is based in a community of support like the Division of Student Affairs. This retreat will highlight putting the ‘R’ in Resilience for our peers and colleagues, our students, and the City of Newark.
