First-Year and Transfer Students
Woodward Hall, University Square Apartments, and 48 New Street Thursday, August 28th
8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
On Thursday, August 28, we will be working with the City of Newark, Rutgers University Police and the Department of Transportation Services to coordinate traffic flow around campus. Please see below and plan accordingly.
Residents of Woodward Hall, University Square and Talbott Apartments:
Enter campus by traveling east on Central Ave from Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd to University Ave. Staff will be directing residents south on University Ave and onto Bleeker Street to unload before parking in Deck 1 at 200 University Avenue. Vehicles must be parked in reverse perpendicularly to the street with the driver remaining with the vehicle at all times. Vehicles must be moved immediately following the unloading items to keep traffic flowing. Failure to follow these guidelines accordingly could result in a vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.
Residents of 48 New Street:
Park in Deck 4 at 134 Washington Street to unload items during your move-in. If you choose to park elsewhere in the downtown area, please be mindful of any parking permit restrictions and metered spaces.
Early Drop-Off
For those interested, we are also providing early drop-off times starting Monday, August 25th through Wednesday, August 27th from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM daily. During this time, you will be provided with access to your assigned unit to drop items off so that you can return on move-in day and simply set up your space. You will not be permitted to reside in the space until August 28th. To request an early drop-off date and time please visit here and we will confirm when your request has been approved. During this time, you will need to comply with any street parking requirements.
