My role within Student Affairs has given me the opportunity to build meaningful connections, improve my leadership skills, and contribute to creating a healthier and safer environment for all students.
Bio: My name is Angelica Ocasio a rising fourth-year student attending Rutgers University – Newark, and majoring in social work with a concentration in history. Throughout the past three years, I have focused on promoting social justice, raising awareness for mental health, and the prevention of interpersonal violence. I spend my free time reading about the law and legal systems, watching videos about graphic design, and perfecting her apple pie recipe.
About the Office: Working alongside Health Services has enabled me to have creative freedom while supporting students' general wellness. My role within Student Affairs has given me the opportunity to build meaningful connections, improve my leadership skills, and contribute to creating a healthier and safer environment for all students. Whether I am working at the annual 'Flu Pod,' creating an Instagram post based on one of the eight dimensions of wellness, or making a flyer for health screenings, I have been able to utilize the communication and teamwork skills I have learned through collaborating with Health Services. If you are interested in promoting student health and wellness, I highly recommend becoming involved on-campus. You will not regret it!
