Through my involvement in campus student life as an undergraduate, I was able to serve in multiple leadership roles, build lifelong skills, and cultivate a network greater than I could have imagined.
Bio: My name is Assatta Mann I am a graduate of Rutgers University - Newark, holding a degree in Political Science. During my time as an undergraduate student, I was the President of the Rutgers Newark College Democrats where I organized students around issues such as environmental policies to address climate change, progressive wealth taxes, universal healthcare, and worked to increase civic and electoral participation. In the fall, I will continue my studies as a graduate student at Rutgers - Newark, studying Political Science with a concentration in Urban Community Development.
About the Office: I will always highly recommend all students to take advantage of the resources that the Office of Student Life and Leadership has to offer. Through my involvement in campus student life as an undergraduate, I was able to serve in multiple leadership roles, build lifelong skills, and cultivate a network greater than I could have imagined. Not only did my involvement give me the chance to have an impact on my campus community, but it allowed me opportunities to get involved with the Greater Newark community and give back to a city that welcomed me. I’ve found that the experiences you have through student life pick up right where the classrooms experience ends. Find your role on campus and dive in!
