Through my role as a member, I became an Honor Council chief and served as a leader for my community, which encouraged me to work on my interpersonal and communicative skills with my members.

About The Office: The Office of Community Standards has taught me so much over the past two years that I’ve spent as a member of the Honor Council. In the beginning of my role, I had very little interpersonal and communication skills. Through my role as a member, I became an Honor Council chief and served as a leader for my community, which encouraged me to work on my interpersonal and communicative skills with my members. Honor Council has always worked with me and has prioritized my role as a student. I am so grateful for the opportunities that I’ve been given as a member of Honor Council and hope that others will see the value that this department provides students. There are great opportunities for students to improve their professional skills by becoming involved! Some advice I would give to someone who is trying to join Honor Council or any organization would be to always try to put yourself out there. If I hadn’t put myself out there, I wouldn’t be where I am today and I am a much better person because of it.
