Bio: My name is Louis Valderrama. Out of respect for my family’s tradition of military service, I enlisted in the United States Army in 2014 and served as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. I served at two Army bases before being tasked to work with civilians specializing in diesel engines at Navistar. I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration, with a concentration in Healthcare Administration.
About the Office: The Office of Veteran Affairs has been a huge factor in my success at Rutgers – Newark, so far. There are resources at my disposal thanks to the efforts of the office and the knowledgeable student veterans there who offer their support whenever needed. The availability of a lounge is the icing on the cake.”
