Bio: My name is Sarah Shobut, and I am a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences candidate in Political science and Women's, gender and sexuality studies. My pronouns are SHE, Her, Hers. I am a Junior at Rutgers University- Newark. In addition to my work with the Title IX office I am Vice President, Rutgers Pre-Law Society, Chair- Womxn's Caucus of the Rutgers University- Newark College Democrats, School of Arts & Sciences Senator & Co-Speaker, Rutgers Student Governing Association and Chair- Sexual Assault Prevention Committee of the Rutgers Student Governing Association.
About the Office: Being a student who is passionate about raising awareness and addressing interpersonal violence, I’ve worked closely with the Office of Title IX and ADA Compliance to organize on the issue and promote an environment that does not tolerate any form of violence. My time at Rutgers- Newark has allowed me to work with Title IX and see all the work that goes into keeping the community safe and creating a safe space for people who may need it. The Title IX is a great resource for all students to know about and to gain knowledge on equality.
