Bio: My name is Umang Jain, and I am a graduate student at Rutgers University, pursuing master’s degree in Information technology and Analytics. Working as a graduate assistant at The Office of International Student and Scholar Services has been a huge factor in my success at Rutgers – Newark, so far. OISS has always helped me and makes a great effort to educate international students on how to maintain their legal status. Orientation programs, Meet and Greets, and social events organized by OISS are beneficial in learning and experiencing the student culture at Rutgers. Thanks to the efforts of the OISS and the knowledgeable team we have who offer their support whenever needed. The availability of OISS at any time is the icing on the cake.

About the Office: We are the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISS) at Rutgers University-Newark. OISS is the designated office to support you throughout your Rutgers experience and beyond, be it a question about immigration status or your transition to this new culture and community. OISS assists in matters related to maintaining your F or J visa status by ensuring your compliance with both SEVIS and federal law for all the international community of students, scholars and families. We also address social and cultural issues and provide engaging programming throughout the academic year.
