The Bias Education and Reporting Team (BERT) at Rutgers University - Newark envisions a safe, affirming, and inclusive community for all students to learn and work together in alignment with the University's commitment to champion diversity of thought, experience, and identity.  BERT exists to provide support-related resources to individuals who have experienced a bias incident.

Our Bias Education Reporting Team members may: 

  • Coordinate campus and community-based support resources 
  • Serve as an intermediate facilitator when appropriate 
  • Develop and facilitate educational trainings, dialogues, and workshops 
  • Collaborate with university partners to provide continued care and follow-up 
  • Support departments, student organizations, and classes with customized bias education
