Conduct & Community Standards

• Handle the investigative and adjudicative processes of alleged incidents of student misconduct.
• Recruit and train members of the University Hearing Board, Campus Advisors, Resorative Justice Facilitators, and Campus Appeals Committee.
• Strive to create learning opportunities for students through participation in the RU-N Honor Council, peer education, alternative conflict resolution, and community building activities.
• Manage student disciplinary records.
• Facilitate ethical leadership development opportunities through workshops and tabling events.

The Honor Council is a student organization made up of undergraduate and graduate students dedicated to upholding the standards outlined in the University Code of Student Conduct and promoting a safe, respectful campus environment.

The Council’s primary responsibility is serving on the University Honor Board, where members help provide a fair and educational process for resolving alleged violations of University policies. In addition to this, Honor Council members support educational programs and initiatives sponsored by the Community Standards Office.

Being part of the Honor Council offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, gain hands-on experience with campus conduct processes, and contribute meaningfully to the student community. Members also build valuable connections with peers, faculty, and staff who share a commitment to integrity and accountability.

The Ethical Development Workshop series  is a number of programs hosted throughout each semester, designed to enhance student’s ethical decision-making strategies, communication and conflict resolution skills as well as leadership development. Each semester, the office sponsors a one-day series of Ethical Development Workshops that engage students in conversation about ethical decision making around a specific theme related to the University Code of Student Conduct. Throughout each semester, the office additionally sponsors a series of "Know Your Code" tables where students can participate in an interactive activity related to increasing understanding of policies, procedures and resources

Integrity Week is a campus-wide initiative that encourages students to reflect on what it means to make ethical choices—both in and out of the classroom. Throughout the week, students will have the chance to engage in interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and thoughtful conversations that center around honesty, accountability, and responsible decision-making.

As Responsible Raiders, students will be a part of a community that values integrity as a foundation for personal and academic success. Students can join our office as we explore real-world challenges, connect with campus resources, and take steps toward building a culture of trust and respect.

Caring Community Week is a celebratory week of events that happens annually in February. Throughout the week, the office aims to unite the campus community through our shared responsibility to make sure we are cultivating a community that feels safe, welcoming and inclusive. Events will be held each week to highlight departments and resources on campus and invite students to engage in conversations about the RU-N community. Events typically include a resource fair, movie night, educational workshops and tabling.
