Honor Council

The Honor Council is a student organization made up of undergraduate and graduate students dedicated to upholding the standards outlined in the University Code of Student Conduct and promoting a safe, respectful campus environment.

The Council’s primary responsibility is serving on the University Honor Board, where members help provide a fair and educational process for resolving alleged violations of University policies. In addition to this, Honor Council members support educational programs and initiatives sponsored by the Community Standards Office.

Being part of the Honor Council offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, gain hands-on experience with campus conduct processes, and contribute meaningfully to the student community. Members also build valuable connections with peers, faculty, and staff who share a commitment to integrity and accountability.

Each semester, the office sponsors a one-day series of Ethical Development Workshop that engage students in conversation about ethical decision making around a specific theme related to the University Code of Student Conduct. Throughout each semester, the office additionally sponsors a series of "Know Your Code" tables where students can participate in an interactive activity related to increasing understanding of policies, procedures and resources
