Violence Prevention & Victim Assistance

The Office for VPVA focuses on the prevention of interpersonal violence (IPV) and supporting survivors, by cultivating a trauma-informed community through education, advocacy, and awareness initiatives.

We support and empower those on our campus who have been affected by interpersonal violence, connect them with resources, and provide trauma-informed advocacy and services.  Our goal is to have each member of our campus community feel safe, connected and have the tools to grow, heal and be proactive Upstanders. VPVA serves as a confidential resource on campus, offering crisis intervention and clinical services to survivors, as well as education and training to staff, faculty and students.  We aim to reduce the shame and stigma around IPV, create spaces for open and engaging conversations around violence prevention and rape culture, and remove barriers to support for survivors and their loved ones.
